A Morning Practice That Survives a Hard Week

Most routines collapse the first time life gets loud. Build one designed for the bad weeks instead of the good ones.

A Morning Practice That Survives a Hard Week

Design for the worst week, not the best one

Ambitious routines are built on the assumption of a calm Tuesday. Then the calm Tuesday never comes.

The floor

Set a floor so low it is embarrassing to skip:

  • Three minutes seated.
  • One page written by hand.
  • One sentence to an ancestor or to whatever you address.

That is the floor, not the goal. On good days you will do far more. On terrible days you will still be a practitioner.

Streaks are a trap

A broken streak makes people quit entirely. Count months, not days. Miss a Tuesday, keep the month.

Consistency is not perfection. It is return.
